The Chief Minister's Office stated, “It was resolved during the meeting that the 'Odisha Vision 2036 and 2047' document will be finalised in collaboration with public representatives, ordinary citizens, members of civil society, and intellectuals at various levels through regional workshops in four locations across the state.”

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed that on the occasion of the centenary celebrations of the state's formation, the Government has made an ambitious commitment to transform Odisha into a prosperous and developed state by 2036.

CM Majhi also pointed out that a prosperous Odisha by 2036 will contribute to India's ambition of becoming a developed nation by 2047. He added that the state government has initiated preparations for the 'Odisha Vision 2036 and 2047' starting from August 2024 with support from NITI Aayog.

“Inclusion, Prosperity, and Wellness are the foundational pillars of this vision document. To achieve the GSDP target of $1.5 trillion by 2047 and contribute 5 percent to India's GDP, Odisha must exceed its current economic growth rate,” CM Majhi remarked. He noted that this goal can be realized through a collaborative environment, public-private investment, effective implementation, and technological coordination.

During his address, CM Majhi stressed the importance of prioritizing infrastructural growth and proposed tailored plans for enhancing road and railway networks, ports, and air transport. “Odisha's transformation journey will be expedited by the launch of a strategic initiative '36 for 36', which will identify 36 flagship projects aimed at making a significant impact in essential sectors by 2036. The draft can be finalized through the well-considered advice and guidance of the Council of Ministers, and an implementation plan will be established to ensure successful realization of the objectives set forth in the Vision Odisha 2036 and 2047 document,” Majhi stated.

Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, who attended the meeting, underscored the necessity for export-oriented manufacturing to attain a rapid economic growth rate, along with the need for Deregulation, Decriminalisation, and Digitisation to improve the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB).
