Jammu, April 24 (NationPress) A tragic incident occurred on Thursday when a soldier was killed during an intense gunfight between security forces and terrorists in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the Army, a joint operation was initiated on Thursday in Basantgarh, Udhampur, following specific intelligence received in coordination with the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
“Contact was made, leading to a fierce exchange of fire. One of our brave soldiers suffered critical injuries in the initial clash and unfortunately succumbed despite all possible medical assistance. The operation is ongoing,” officials stated.
