Guwahati, Feb 21 (NationPress) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Friday that ten individuals have been apprehended in relation to the assault on Congress MP Rakibul Hussain.

He also affirmed that legal actions will be pursued.
The Dhubri MP was assaulted while participating in a public event in the Nagaon district.
The Congress MP had to flee the scene while donning a helmet for protection. Hussain's security personnel experienced minor injuries during the incident.
A viral video depicted masked assailants initially displaying black flags toward the Congress MP before launching an attack.
In the footage, Hussain was seen escaping on a two-wheeler to avoid further harm.
This occurrence in the Ruporihat locality has drawn criticism from opposition members, with Congress leaders targeting the BJP government.
Gaurav Gogoi, Deputy Opposition leader in the Lok Sabha, strongly condemned the BJP administration following the attack on Congress MP Hussain.
Gogoi remarked, "In Assam, a Congress Lok Sabha MP is assaulted by thugs in broad daylight in a crowded market. These goons even attacked police security officers and attempted to seize their weapons. All of this is captured on camera. Yet, the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, refuses to guarantee immediate arrests of the thugs."
"The Chief Minister should at least consider his constitutional obligations toward the Assam Police and innocent civilians in the marketplace. If the thugs had seized a machine gun, a disastrous tragedy could have occurred. The Chief Minister's attitude will only encourage thieves, dacoits, smugglers, and murder suspects. Democracy faces a threat, and the people of Assam seek liberation from this gunda raj culture," he added.
The Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, Debabrata Saikia, described the incident as a failure of the police and administration.
