During the Meghalaya IT Awards event, where outstanding students from Class X and XII received laptops, the Chief Minister highlighted the necessity of empowering young individuals to propel the growth and advancement of the state.
“Our government is deeply committed to the youth of our state. Young people are central to our policymaking, and everything we undertake is aligned with their interests,” he stated, reinforcing that the government's initiatives and strategies are tailored to address the aspirations and requirements of the youth.
Regarding the enhancement of sports infrastructure, Sangma remarked, “We aim to foster our young talents to ensure they are well-prepared to compete on national and international platforms, including the Olympics.”
“This effort is part of a larger government strategy aimed at encouraging holistic development and enabling young individuals to realize their full potential,” he mentioned.
Informing attendees about the lifecycle approach the government employs in decision-making, the CM stated: “Our primary focus is on the needs of mothers, children, and youth. We are establishing a foundation for the future of our state and nation. Our policies and initiatives are crafted with a comprehensive perspective, prioritizing the overall growth and evolution of our state and its residents,” he added.
He noted that traditional scheme-based approaches frequently miss the ultimate aim of positively impacting lives, saying: “Governments typically operate on a scheme-based framework, focusing on executing programs like PMGSY, JJM, and farmer initiatives, but in doing so, we often overlook the actual purpose of these schemes, which is to enhance people's lives.”
The Chief Minister also pointed out that the government is transitioning from mere implementation to outcomes, emphasizing the real benefits and positive transformations that its programs can deliver to the populace.
