Jamshedpur, Jan 31 (NationPress) - Indian golfer Hoshi Rakesh Yadav, currently based in Dubai, alongside Md Razu from Bangladesh, achieved a remarkable score of six-under 65 to share the lead after the initial round of Pre-Qualifying III for the PGTI Qualifying School 2025, taking place at the Golmuri Golf Course on Friday.
The 24-year-old Hoshi Rakesh Yadav is competing in his third attempt at the PGTI Q School, having an impeccable round without any errors, which included an eagle and four birdies. He kicked off the day with a 10-foot birdie on the first hole and later made an impressive recovery from the rough, converting a 12-foot eagle on the ninth.
Originally from Gurugram, Yadav has previously played college golf in the United States and secured three additional birdies on the back-nine, thanks to his exceptional wedge shots on the par-3 holes.
Yadav expressed, “Despite not qualifying through the PGTI Q School in my earlier two attempts over the past two years, my previous experience at Golmuri significantly aided my planning for today’s round. I had solid ball-striking, and starting with a birdie was a great motivator. The eagle on the ninth hole further lifted my spirits and helped me conclude my round strongly.”
Md Razu managed to score seven birdies along with one bogey to join Yadav at the top. Amateurs Vishesh Sharma and Neil Jolly are sharing third place with scores of five-under 66.
Among a competitive field of 129 participants, the top 27 players (including ties) will advance from Pre-Qualifying III, which is a 36-hole event, to the Final Qualifying Stage. This marks the final of the three Pre-Qualifying events.
