Karwar, Feb 22 (NationPress) Despite the assertions from his party's state leaders that the Congress government's implementation of unscientific guarantees is driving the state towards financial ruin, Karnataka BJP MLA and former minister Shivaram Hebbar asserted that the guarantee schemes are essential for fostering an equal society.
In a statement to reporters in Sirsi, MLA Hebbar remarked, 'Initially, the guarantee schemes had affected developmental initiatives. Now, things are aligning. It's crucial to establish an equal society, and delivering such schemes is unavoidable in this context.'
He went on to question, 'If local BJP leaders are criticizing the guarantees, what actions did the party take in Maharashtra and Delhi?'
Addressing the topic of 'internal disputes' within the BJP's Karnataka faction, he expressed, 'I find it perplexing how many factions exist within the party. I am still tallying them up. Growing uncomfortable with the current dynamics in the BJP, I'm opting to step back from party matters.'
'In a few days, it will become evident whose perspective is correct. When I and BJP MLA from Yeshwanthpur in Bengaluru, S. T. Somashekar, chose to distance ourselves from the party, State President B.Y. Vijayendra and senior MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal claimed it was a mistake. Those who asserted we were on the wrong path are now making errors themselves,' he claimed.
'I am refraining from making waves. When I feel it's necessary, I will address controversial topics,' he stated in response to questions regarding the State President position.
MLA Shivaram Hebbar represents the Yellapur constituency in Karwar district. He joined the BJP in 2019 after leaving the Congress and served as the Labour Minister in the BJP administration.
At present, MLA Hebbar and BJP MLA Somashekar are aligning themselves with the Congress.
Somashekar has referred to Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar as his godfather.
