Patna, Jan 22 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, is scheduled to visit Araria district on Wednesday as part of his Pragati Yatra. This visit aims to evaluate ongoing rural development projects and to inaugurate or lay the groundwork for several developmental schemes with a cumulative investment exceeding Rs 300 crore.

During his visit, CM Nitish Kumar will conduct a review of critical projects under Saat Nischay Part 2, which includes the Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal Yojana that guarantees tap water supply to every household, the Tola Sampark Yojana designed to enhance connectivity in rural areas, along with various other rural development initiatives.

The Chief Minister plans to visit the Raniganj block in the district to evaluate the progress of these schemes and engage with the local community.

This district carries historical significance, being linked to British officer W.G. Martin's girlfriend Mary, who lived in the vicinity. The area, now referred to as Maryganj, is commemorated with a post office named in her honor. Additionally, it features in the celebrated novel Maila Anchal by acclaimed author Phanishwar Nath Renu, further enhancing its cultural relevance.

CM Nitish Kumar is expected to spend more than five hours in Araria, during which he will hold a review meeting with district officials to evaluate the implementation of various projects. The district administration has made all necessary arrangements for the Chief Minister's visit.

Currently, he is on his Pragati Yatra, visiting one district each day to inspect ongoing development projects aimed at improving infrastructure and benefiting the populace.

On Tuesday, Nitish Kumar visited Kishanganj district, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for several development schemes.

During that visit, he assessed the progress of various initiatives in the minority hamlet of Kathaldangi village in Pateshwari Panchayat. These initiatives encompass projects related to a primary school, an Anganwadi center, a community building, community toilets, and more. In Halamla, the Chief Minister inspected a pond renovated under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan. He also inaugurated the Emergency Response Facility cum Training Centre in Maheshbathana, Kishanganj, and laid the foundation stone for a foot-over bridge in Deramari, Kochadhaman. Additionally, cheques for sanctioned amounts were distributed to beneficiaries under various welfare schemes.
