Bengaluru, Feb 22 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP asserted on Saturday that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is destined to face incarceration due to the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scandal.
The Opposition Leader in the Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, expressed that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah remains embroiled in the 'MUDA' debacle.
“His demeanor hasn’t shifted, and the MUDA issue continues to pursue him. This situation is far from over. You might acquire any certificate from whomever you choose, but the laws of our nation are intact. The courts are functioning effectively and will deliver justice. There is no way out—you will surely face jail time concerning the MUDA case,” he declared while addressing the media at the BJP state office 'Jagannath Bhavan' in Bengaluru.
He strongly condemned the ongoing delays in elections for the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), stating that it undermines the democratic framework.
He remarked, "They once promoted 'Brand Bengaluru'. Now, they discuss 'Greater Bengaluru'. If they failed to cultivate 'Brand Bengaluru', how can they establish 'Greater Bengaluru'?"
He further denounced the initiative to subdivide Bengaluru into seven segments, asserting, "This is not an appropriate strategy. By attempting to create 'Greater Bengaluru', you are on the path to dismantling the city envisioned by Kempegowda. This tactic does not correspond with the goal of developing the city in a cohesive and efficient manner."
Narayanaswamy criticized the government, stating, "Disruptive elements have already infiltrated Bengaluru and are wreaking havoc. With bomb threats and various other perils escalating, you are preoccupied with partitioning Bengaluru into six or seven parts solely to create more mayoral positions. This will only serve those seeking power rather than those dedicated to the growth and development of Bengaluru."
He accused the government of failing to address these issues.
In response to an inquiry, Narayanaswamy lashed out, echoing Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s recent comment that even God cannot salvage Bengaluru, he asked, “Then what is your role? Step down! Resign and depart! Someone else will come and manage. We can enhance Bengaluru better than you, and we will.”
When further pressed about Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s assertion that developing Bengaluru is an unachievable task, he countered: "Those who lack capability make excuses. They attained power by making deceptive promises regarding development. They remain mired in their 'guarantees', thinking these assurances will secure their power indefinitely. Yet, their so-called 'guarantees' have already lost their credibility."
