New Delhi, Feb 22 (NationPress) Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu issued a directive to Air India to take appropriate measures following criticisms aimed at the Tata Group-owned airline regarding Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s dissatisfaction with their service.

The Civil Aviation Minister personally contacted Chouhan to resolve the issue, indicating that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) would also investigate the matter swiftly.

Earlier, Chouhan had expressed his discontent over Air India’s inadequate service after being assigned a defective seat on a flight from Bhopal to Delhi.

Following his remarks, BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar also voiced concerns regarding the airline’s service quality.

Chandrasekhar took to X to question the standards of Air India post-privatisation, stating, "If it was anyone else other than the polite, gentleman minister @ChouhanShivraj ji, a justified angry response would have arisen from such an incident."

He highlighted the diminished competition among full-service airlines after Tata's takeover of Air India, commenting, "The Tatas’ acquisition of @airindia has resulted in reduced competition and consumer options in full-service airlines, leading to complacency and a 'chalta hai' attitude!"

The BJP leader urged the Tata Group to resolve these issues promptly, cautioning that failure to act could invoke government and regulatory action.

Chouhan had complained about receiving a broken seat on Air India flight AI436, where he was assigned seat 8C, as he noted on X.

In response to Chouhan's grievance, Air India expressed regret for the inconvenience and initiated a comprehensive investigation into the situation.
