Chennai, Feb 3 (NationPress) Actress Lakshmi Menon is set to star as the female lead in director Arivazhagan’s highly anticipated horror thriller ‘Sabdham’. In this film, she will portray the role of a first-year resident doctor, while the main character, Aadhi, will take on the role of a paranormal investigator.
In an exclusive conversation with IANS, director Arivazhagan shared, “This film will seamlessly blend both types of supernatural thrillers. One will be commercially appealing, and the other will lean more towards classic storytelling. Sabdham, akin to my debut film ‘Eeram’, promises to be a captivating classic supernatural thriller that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats.”
Elaborating on the characters, Arivazhagan mentioned, “Aadhi embodies a ghost or paranormal investigator, while Lakshmi Menon appears as a first-year resident doctor.”
While his debut film ‘Eeram’ featured spirits using water as a medium, ‘Sabdham’ will utilize sound in a similar fashion.
Arivazhagan, a gold medalist from the film institute and a former assistant to director Shankar, has a remarkable history of delivering successful films.
Starting with ‘Eeram’, which starred Aadhi, Nandha, and Sindhu Menon, he has consistently produced hits.
Eeram, produced by Shankar, was a horror thriller, followed by Vallinam, a basketball-centric sports film. Next came Aarathu Sinam, a crime investigative thriller featuring Arul Nidhi. He later directed Kuttram 23, a medical crime thriller starring Arun Vijay.
Sabdham marks the second time he is revisiting a genre. The film's score is composed by Thaman, a close friend of Arivazhagan and one of the leading music directors in the Telugu film industry.
In addition to Aadhi and Lakshmi Menon, the cast includes Simran, Laila, Redin Kingsley, MS Baskar, and the talented director Rajiv Menon in key roles.
