Mumbai, April 28 (NationPress) The much-anticipated film 'Mercy', featuring Niharica Raizada and Adil Hussain, is all set to be presented at the UK Asian Film Festival taking place in London.
This film marks the directorial debut of Mitul Patel and delves into the delicate moments of saying goodbye to a loved one. It will be showcased on May 5, 2025, at the Rich Mix Theatre.
In the film, Niharica Raizada portrays Jiya, the wife of Shekhar, while Aparna Ghoshal plays the ailing matriarch Sujata. Kunal Bhan takes on the role of the emotionally torn brother Vihaan, and Adil Hussain adds warmth and depth as Father Joel, the family’s spiritual mentor during their toughest times.
Raj Vasudeva, who plays the central character Shekhar, expressed, “‘Mercy’ reflects the subtle, often unexpressed feelings that accompany loss. It examines the fortitude required to accept what’s inevitable and the enduring love that persists even while letting go.”
Adil Hussain remarked, “To me, Mercy embodies that silent realm where grief, affection, and duty intermingle. It captures those moments when decisions must be made not rationally, but with a heart that’s shattering.”
The film's trailer was unveiled exclusively at the Indian Pavilion during last year’s Cannes Festival, providing a sneak peek into its touching storyline and received an overwhelmingly positive reception.
Produced by Raj Vasudeva and Anuradha Sachdev under the banner of Everclear Films, Mercy follows their acclaimed short film 'Forbidden', which boldly addressed the issue of honor killings and was featured in over 30 global festivals.
With Mercy, Everclear makes its debut in feature films, staying committed to its mission of narrating courageous, emotionally resonant stories that ignite reflection and empathy.
