Deepika Padukone Criticizes L&T Chairman Over Mental Health Concerns
Mumbai, Jan 9 (NationPress) Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone, who recently featured in 'Singham Again', has voiced her concerns regarding the recent comments made by Larsen & Toubro's chairman SN Subrahmanyan.

Mumbai, Jan 9 (NationPress) Bollywood sensation Deepika Padukone, who was last seen in Singham Again, is raising her voice against a recent statement made by Larsen & Toubro's chairman SN Subrahmanyan.

Subrahmanyan stirred controversy with his suggestion for employees to work 90 hours a week, including reporting to work on Sundays, which many found alarming.

Deepika, a passionate advocate for mental health, has publicly criticized SN Subrahmanyan for his apparent disregard for labour laws and the importance of mental well-being.

In her response, she shared a post from journalist Faye D'Souza, stating, “Shocking to see people in such senior positions make such statements. #MentalHealthMatters”.

This incident isn't isolated, as past remarks from business leaders have also drawn ire. For instance, N. R. Narayana Murthy, co-founder of Infosys, previously ignited debate by suggesting young Indians should work 70 hours a week to advance the nation.

Last year, Deepika made a surprise appearance alongside Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh at his concert in Bengaluru, where she was seen dancing to his hit song ‘Hass Hass’, featuring Sia. This occasion marked her first public event since the birth of her daughter Dua and held special significance as it took place in her hometown.

Originally hailing from Bengaluru, the Copenhagen-born actress carved out a prominent career in Hindi cinema, starting with her debut film Om Shanti Om alongside Shah Rukh Khan, with whom she has enjoyed tremendous box-office success.

In 2023, she starred in two blockbuster films with SRK, namely Pathaan and Jawan, the latter featuring her in a cameo role. Both films played a crucial role in rejuvenating Bollywood's box office performance after pandemic-induced challenges.

Before her role in Singham Again, Deepika expanded her horizons in the pan-Indian film industry, collaborating with legends such as Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, and Saswata Chatterjee in Kalki 2898 AD.
