Mumbai, Jan 6 (NationPress) Who among us does not dream of having a home like Shah Rukh Khan's Mannat? Actress Delnaaz Irani is certainly no different.
To jog your memory, she had a brief role in the film 'Kal Ho Naa Ho', featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, and Saif Ali Khan.
Delnaaz is thrilled to announce that she now has her very own Mannat.
Indeed, you heard it right! For those unaware, she is set to portray Harneet in her upcoming series 'Mannat'.
This drama is set to air on Colors starting January 6.
Discussing the show's title, Delnaaz mentioned that it instantly brought to mind Shah Rukh’s residence.
She further expressed that she has manifested her own Mannat.
Delnaaz also shared her motivation for joining a project: “I have clearly and consciously told myself that at this stage of my life, I want to do work that makes me happy. Whether it's the people I work with, the setting, the narrative, or the creative fulfillment, I want something that makes it worthwhile to step out of my home and comfort zone.”
She elaborated, “Given our current lifestyle, there are countless ways to stay relevant, especially through social media, where one can earn money while remaining comfortably at home. I’ve been quite active on those platforms, so I don’t see the need to spend hours commuting unless the role is exceptionally strong and impactful.”
Delnaaz also recounted her experience working on 'Mannat', noting that the filming is taking place at a studio close to her home. For her character, they requested an older version of Sweetu, which means she can be her true self. “I would describe myself as the sugar and spice of the show,” she said.
On the director, Mukta Dhond, she commented: “I really wanted to collaborate with Mukta Dhond. I’ve admired her previous shows, which were fantastic. So, when I received the call for this project, I was eager to make it happen, and everything just fell into place seamlessly.”
