Mumbai, Jan 21 (NationPress) On his 39th birth anniversary on Tuesday, TV Czarina Ekta Kapoor fondly remembered the late star Sushant Singh Rajput and honored him by sharing memorable clips from his acclaimed show “Pavitra Rishta”.

Ekta took to Instagram to post a video showcasing moments with Sushant and actress Ankita Lokhande. This show, which aired from 2009 to October 2014, was an adaptation of the Tamil series Thirumathi Selvam.

“Nostalgia, emotions, and memories come in waves, and perhaps today is one such day… Happy birthday, wherever you are, shine bright, and remember that you are loved!” Ekta expressed in her caption.

The storyline followed Sushant’s character Manav, a garage owner who falls for Archana, a diligent and homely girl from a middle-class family. After their marriage, their joy is tested by various family crises.

Sushant initiated his acting journey with Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil before making his film debut in “Kai Po Che!”. He later starred in several successful films, including Shuddh Desi Romance, “M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story”, “Kedarnath”, and “Chhichhore”.

Rajput transitioned to acting after leaving his engineering studies at the Delhi College of Engineering and joining the theater scene in Mumbai. Following Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil, he gained fame through Pavitra Rishta.

Tragically, he passed away by suicide in June 2020 at the age of 34 at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai. His death sparked numerous controversies, with the Narcotics Control Bureau alleging that Rajput was involved in drug procurement since 2018, leading to abetment charges against several individuals.

His final film, Dil Bechara, was released posthumously in 2020 on Hotstar. It is a poignant coming-of-age romantic tragedy directed by Mukesh Chhabra and is based on John Green's 2012 novel The Fault in Our Stars.
