Guwahati, Feb 6 (NationPress) Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the forthcoming investment summit in the state, titled ‘Advantage Assam’, is set to transform the region into a center of innovation and entrepreneurship.

In a post on X, Sarma stated, “The #AdvantageAssam2 will establish Assam as a hub of innovation and entrepreneurship. With an ideal investment environment and unwavering support from the Union Government, Assam is making significant progress towards development. Take advantage of this opportunity and join us at #AdvantageAssam2.”

The Chief Minister also highlighted that the state government has sanctioned the Assam Action Plan on BioE3 Policy, which will empower the biotechnology sector across five verticals to utilize technology and transition towards Green Growth, aligning with the Central Government’s policies.

The five main focus areas of the action plan encompass biodiversity-based innovations, food biotechnology, fragrance and aroma biotechnology, aquatic biotechnology, and the application of space technology.

The Chief Minister asserted that this action plan is designed to stimulate research and innovation, providing a boost to startups in the BioE3 sector.

Furthermore, it will improve Centre-State coordination in this area, and a BioE3 Cell will be established. Notably, the Advantage Assam summit is scheduled to take place in Guwahati on February 25 and 26.

Sarma expressed that this summit aims to attract more investments to the state, promising an increase in government jobs and support for entrepreneurship for the local populace.

The Chief Minister mentioned that the event, occurring on February 24 and 25, will showcase the traditional Jhumur dance of the tea tribe communities.

Sarma commented: "This summit serves as a platform to present Assam's rich cultural heritage to a global audience while attracting investors.” A grand Jhumur dance performance featuring over 7,500 dancers and artists will be a highlight of the event, making it an extraordinary showcase, according to the Chief Minister.

Preparations are actively underway for this cultural celebration.
