Prayagraj/Imphal, Feb 6 (NationPress) In the midst of ongoing political discussions, Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, along with three Cabinet members and four other BJP MLAs, took a sacred dip at the Triveni Sangam in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj on Thursday.
Numerous BJP officials accompanied the Chief Minister for this holy ritual during the continuing Maha Kumbh festivities in Prayagraj.
Post-dip, CM Biren Singh shared his joy through several posts on X. He stated: "Standing at the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati at Triveni Sangam, one feels the embrace of divinity itself. As the cool waters touch the soul, they wash away not just the sins of the body but the burdens of countless lifetimes. With folded hands and a heart full of devotion, I pray for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of our great nation and the beloved people of Manipur."
CM Biren Singh further remarked: "At Triveni Sangam, where sacred rivers unite, the waters cleanse both body and soul. I pray for our nation and Manipur, seeking peace, strength, and prosperity. May divine grace guide us toward unity and light."
He also shared a video of himself taking the dip and met BJP's Lok Sabha member Ravi Shankar Prasad at the Maha Kumbh.
Accompanying CM Singh were Manipur's Agriculture Minister Biswajit Singh, Public Works Department Minister Konthoujam Govindas, Consumer Affairs Minister L Susindro Meitei, and four MLAs — Khongbantabam Ibomcha Singh, Sapam Kunjakeshwor Singh, Karam Shyam Singh, and S. Premchandra Singh.
CM Singh departed from Imphal on Wednesday noon, and later that night, the three Ministers and four BJP MLAs traveled to Delhi via chartered flight to join him.
Earlier in January, Uttar Pradesh Minister Dinesh Khatik visited Manipur and extended an invitation to the CM for the Maha Kumbh gathering.
Local media reports indicated that prior to the Manipur Assembly Session scheduled for February 10, the Chief Ministers, other Ministers, and MLAs met with Central BJP leaders to discuss political matters in the region affected by ethnic violence.
