Patna, April 28 (NationPress) The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) is set to question Sanjeev Mukhiya once more, the suspected mastermind behind the NEET paper leak, following a court's approval of the agency's application for a new remand. The court has granted the EOU a two-day remand of Mukhiya for further investigation.

Currently incarcerated in Beur Jail, Mukhiya previously underwent a rigorous 36-hour interrogation, during which he revealed shocking details.

In light of these revelations, the EOU sought additional time for questioning, which the court has now authorized.

Officials from the EOU have departed for Beur Jail to continue their inquiry with Mukhiya, who had evaded capture for 18 months by concealing himself in various locations.

Prior to his arrest, he was residing with his girlfriend at RN Heights Apartment near Saguna Mor in Patna.

He disclosed that he became involved in the paper leak scheme to elevate the political status of his wife, Mamta Devi, with aspirations for her to serve as an MP or MLA.

Devi is anticipated to run for election from the Harnaut Assembly constituency, with her campaign office recently opened.

Mukhiya admitted to establishing a strong network that facilitated admissions for the children of influential figures into elite medical colleges.

He also claimed to possess connections within significant organizations such as the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) and the National Testing Agency (NTA).

His operation involved around 30 members working across various states, including Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal.

Mukhiya confessed to leaking examination papers for numerous competitive tests, including constable recruitment, teacher selection exams, and even the National Eligibility Test, significantly undermining the education system and impacting thousands of deserving candidates.

Sources indicate that Mukhiya has implicated several new individuals allegedly involved in the paper leak scandal during his interrogation.

Following these disclosures, further legal actions and arrests are anticipated.

The EOU is intensifying its efforts to dismantle the expansive network that has manipulated various recruitment and admission processes throughout the region.
