Hyderabad, Feb 5 (NationPress) Tragically, three workers lost their lives due to a wall collapse at a construction site in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

An additional worker sustained injuries during this unfortunate event that took place in LB Nagar.

As reported by police, the incident transpired while the workers were digging a pit for the cellar of a hotel currently under construction. A compound wall within the same property collapsed, trapping the workers beneath the debris.

Emergency responders, including police and the Disaster Response Force (DRF), quickly arrived on the scene to conduct rescue operations. They successfully retrieved the bodies of the three workers from the rubble.

One other worker was critically injured and was transported to a private hospital, where his condition remains serious.

The deceased have been identified as Ramu (22), Veeraiah (52), and Vasu (19). The critically injured worker is named Dasarth. All of them are from the same family.

The workers originally hailed from Sitarampuram Thanda in Khammam district and had migrated to Hyderabad seeking employment.

The bodies of the deceased were moved to the Osmania General Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

Senior police and municipal officials visited the location of the accident. At the time of the collapse, there were fifteen workers involved in the digging operation, but others managed to escape without injury.

The police have filed a case and begun further investigations. A police officer stated that they are currently interrogating the hotel management regarding the incident.

In a separate situation in neighboring Andhra Pradesh, a truck was completely engulfed in flames.

This incident occurred near Malayanur village in Kundurpi mandal of Anantapur district. The truck, which was on its way to Anantapur from Chitradurga, suddenly caught fire. The driver managed to stop and escape to safety.

Local residents alerted the fire department, which quickly arrived and extinguished the flames. However, the truck was entirely destroyed in the blaze.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and police have registered a case to look into the matter.
