The Indian contingent, consisting of 120 personnel, is primarily represented by troops from a battalion of the Madras Regiment along with members from the 34th Infantry Regiment. The Japan Ground Self Defence Force (JGSDF) contingent, also of similar strength, will be represented by the 34th Infantry Regiment.

This exercise emphasizes the mutual commitment of both nations towards regional security, peace, and stability, while promoting their shared vision of a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific.

Moreover, it strengthens the India-Japan partnership as a fundamental aspect of regional collaboration, fostering robust military-to-military connections and enhancing cultural ties.

Serving as a testament to the lasting friendship, trust, and cultural bonds between India and Japan, this exercise paves the way for significant professional engagement, showcasing both nations' unwavering dedication to broader defense collaboration.

On February 11, special forces of India and Egypt initiated the 'Cyclone III' exercise at Mahajan Field Firing Ranges in Rajasthan.

“Exercise 'Cyclone' is an annual event conducted alternately in India and Egypt. The last edition was held in Egypt in January 2024,” an official stated.
