Jaipur, Feb 22 (NationPress) Madan Rathore, a member of the Rajya Sabha, was re-elected as the BJP's Rajasthan in-charge on Saturday, marking his second appointment within just seven months.
His official nomination was made public in the presence of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, former CM Vasundhara Raje, and numerous senior party leaders.
During the event, Raje highlighted the need for party unity with the motto "Ekjut, No Group, Ekmukh".
On Friday, no other candidates stepped forward to challenge Rathore, ensuring his victory.
Vijay Rupani, BJP's election in-charge and former Gujarat CM, officially announced his appointment.
Numerous notable leaders, including Rajasthan CM Sharma, former CM Vasundhara Raje, and BJP state in-charge Radha Mohan Das Aggarwal, were in attendance.
While addressing BJP workers, Madan Rathore reiterated his pledge to fortify the government: "This is our government - the best government. If you perceive any shortcomings, communicate them to the leadership with discipline. However, when addressing the public, always remember that we need to maintain unity in support of our government."
Along with Rathore's re-election, 25 national council members were also elected from Rajasthan to partake in the BJP's national president election.
"In Rajasthan, opposition MLAs and 11 Congress MPs still exist. We must strive for a Gujarat-like dominance here. BJP currently controls only five of ten corporations. Similarly, in local governance, we need to amplify our influence," he stated.
"We must campaign so effectively in municipal elections that even Delhi recognizes Bhajan Lal Sharma’s leadership in Rajasthan. With a robust organization, dedicated workers, and a capable Chief Minister, the BJP is set for triumph."
Rathore recounted a college memory about a restaurant sign that read: "If you are satisfied, tell others; if not, tell us."
He encouraged party members to adopt the same philosophy - ensuring the strength of BJP's governance and its positive image.
Moreover, he expressed his appreciation for party workers via his X handle and stated, "I am committed to fortifying the organization! I am deeply thankful to the senior leadership and all workers for electing me as the state president of Bharatiya Janata Party, Rajasthan. Your trust and support inspire me."
Emphasizing Vijay Rupani's leadership in Gujarat, Rathore conveyed his aspiration to establish a similar 27-year BJP rule in Rajasthan.
He urged workers to remain dedicated and remember: "This is our government - the best government."
Commenting on Rathore's re-election, Raje commended his resilience, noting that his political journey has been fraught with challenges, but the party has consistently supported him.
She encouraged him to assemble a competent and accountable team that would contribute to the party’s advancement.
In recognizing BJP's organizational strength, Raje praised Radha Mohan Das Aggarwal for his candid leadership, stating, "You speak plainly, without diplomacy, and ensure everyone comprehends their role. Balancing power and organization is BJP's greatest strength."
