Bhopal, Jan 20 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced on Monday that the state government is set to incorporate Unani medicine courses in Hindi, following the introduction of engineering and MBBS programs.
Yadav made this declaration during the opening session of a three-day national seminar at Pt. Khushilal Sharma Government (Autonomous) Ayurveda College in Bhopal.
"If students prefer studying in Hindi, we should meet their needs. We have already launched MBBS and engineering courses in Hindi, so adding allopathy should not pose a significant challenge," the Chief Minister remarked.
It is important to note that the Madhya Pradesh government initiated engineering courses in Hindi back in 2016, aiming to enhance accessibility for students from regional language backgrounds.
The MBBS program was initially rolled out as a pilot at Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal in 2022, with Hindi courses currently available for first-year students as the necessary textbooks are being translated into Hindi.
In his speech, the Chief Minister highlighted the significance of Ayurveda in promoting longevity and its importance on a global scale.
He also revealed plans for establishing nearly a dozen Ayurvedic colleges across the state.
Additionally, the Chief Minister informed that a proposal for the All India Ayurveda Institute (AIAI) has been submitted to the central government.
"Once the proposal receives approval, the first AIAI will be established in Ujjain," he added.
The Chief Minister further emphasized Madhya Pradesh's longstanding connection with Ayurveda, leading the state government to expand its branches and open more colleges to ensure organized education in this field.
