This marks the release of the 19th instalment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana, aimed at providing direct financial support to farmers.

Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan informed the media that more than 9.8 crore farmers, including 2.41 crore female farmers, will receive benefits through this instalment, translating to direct financial assistance surpassing ₹22,000 crore via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), eliminating middlemen and emphasizing the Government's dedication to farmer welfare and agricultural growth.

He noted that during the 18th instalment, assistance was provided to around 9 crore 60 lakh farmers.

According to the Union Minister, Bihar alone has acquired more than ₹25,497 crore from prior instalments, aiding over 86.56 lakh farmers in the state. In the 19th instalment, approximately 76.37 lakh farmers will benefit from over ₹1,591 crores, raising the total amount transferred to beneficiaries in Bihar to about ₹27,088 crores.

In Bhagalpur, over ₹813.87 crore has been distributed to around 2.82 lakh beneficiaries through the 18 instalments of PM-KISAN. For the 19th instalment, around 2.48 lakh beneficiaries will receive benefits exceeding ₹51.22 crore, bringing the total to about ₹865.09 crore.

BJP leaders expect more than 5 lakh farmers to attend the event in Bhagalpur.

The PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana was launched in 2019 to deliver financial assistance to farmers.

Notably, funds are directly transferred to farmers' accounts through DBT, removing intermediaries and bolstering farmer welfare.

This initiative aims to enhance farmers’ financial stability, boost crop yields, and lower agricultural expenses.

In addition to releasing the 19th instalment of PM-KISAN, Prime Minister Modi will unveil several significant initiatives to advance agriculture, dairy, and the rural economy in Bihar.

The Centre has raised the limit for Kisan credit cards, increasing the loan cap for farmers from ₹3 lakh to ₹5 lakh, thereby improving financial accessibility for agricultural requirements. PM Modi will also initiate a modern dairy facility in Barauni with an investment of ₹113.27 crore.

This facility will possess a processing capacity of 2 lakh litres per day. Additionally, he will inaugurate the Motihari Regional Centre of Excellence (CoE) under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission, with an investment of ₹33.80 crore to enhance cattle breeding and dairy productivity and the 10,000th Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) to strengthen farmers’ collective bargaining power and improve market accessibility under the ₹6,865 crore FPO scheme launched in 2020.

To date, ₹254.4 crore in equity grants have been allocated to 4,761 FPOs, and ₹453 crore in credit guarantees have been provided to 1,900 FPOs.

These measures are designed to empower farmers, enhance dairy and cattle farming, and promote rural development. PM Modi will also enhance Bihar's infrastructure.

He will inaugurate the Warisaliganj-Nawada-Tilaiya Rail Doubling Project, constructed at a cost of ₹526 crore. This 36.45 km long project will improve rail connectivity.

Moreover, he will inaugurate the Ismailpur-Rafiganj road-over-bridge, built at a cost of ₹47 crore to alleviate traffic congestion.
