Jaipur, Feb 8 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajan Lal Sharma, along with his Cabinet members and BJP legislators, attended the Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj on Saturday, where they performed a sacred dip in the Triveni Sangam.
Arriving in Prayagraj at 7:20 a.m. via a special flight from Jaipur, the delegation included 115 ministers and MLAs.
A ceremonial pooja was conducted at the Hanuman Temple, following which CM Sharma was set to visit the Rajasthan Government Pavilion.
At 2:30 p.m., a significant Cabinet meeting was scheduled at the Rajasthan Mandapam, marking an important governmental assembly amidst the spiritual occasion.
After the day’s events, CM and the MLAs will remain in Prayagraj overnight.
They plan to return to Jaipur on Sunday at 12 p.m.
During the event, MLAs expressed their joy regarding their participation in the Mahakumbh.
Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari described the initiative as a source of pride, stating: "All ministers and MLAs will participate in the Mahakumbh, and we appreciate CM Bhajan Lal Sharma for this chance."
Deputy Chief Minister Prem Bairwa emphasized the spiritual and political relevance of the visit, proclaiming: "We are praying for the prosperity of Rajasthan and the progress of the nation. I believe that BJP will achieve a full majority in Delhi too."
Cabinet Minister Jawahar Singh Bedham commended the decision to hold a Cabinet meeting during the Kumbh, underscoring the event’s cultural and religious significance in Sanatan Dharma.
He also critiqued the opposition, saying: "Congress leaders are covertly visiting the Kumbh while publicly criticizing us. Their judgment has become clouded."
This marks CM Bhajan Lal Sharma's second visit to Prayagraj during the ongoing Mahakumbh, as he previously took a holy dip at the Sangam on January 19, conducted the Maa Ganga Aarti, and performed Jalabhishek to Lord Mahadev using milk and Ganga water.
He also visited the famous Bade Hanumanji Temple.
