Jaipur, Jan 11 (NationPress) In a moment of great pride for Rajasthan, Dr Ramnivas, an NRI hailing from the state and currently residing in Myanmar, has been honored with the distinguished Pravasi Bharatiya Samman 2025 by President Droupadi Murmu in Bhubaneswar.
Dr Ramnivas, who pursued his education in Rajasthan, is now imparting knowledge of Sanskrit, India's ancient language, to monks in Myanmar. He received this accolade at the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention held in Bhubaneswar.
The delegation from the Rajasthan Government, led by Dr Manisha Arora, Commissioner of the Rajasthan Foundation, participated in the convention and met with Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister for Tourism and Art & Culture. They discussed measures taken by the State Government to enhance relationships with Pravasi Rajasthanis globally.
The delegation also engaged with Kondapalli Srinivas, Andhra Pradesh’s Minister for NRI Empowerment & Relations, sharing vital initiatives and practices of the Rajasthan Foundation aimed at connecting with the Pravasi Rajasthani community.
During the event, Arora remarked, “Our delegation had a very constructive dialogue with the Union Minister of Tourism & Art and Culture, who is originally from Rajasthan. We updated him on key actions undertaken by the government under the leadership of our Chief Minister to strengthen connections with Pravasi Rajasthanis. We also informed him about ongoing efforts by the Rajasthan Foundation to activate and revive both new and existing chapters for Pravasi Rajasthanis.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has recently made significant decisions to operationalize 14 newly established chapters and rejuvenate 12 existing ones under the Rajasthan Foundation, a government department dedicated to fostering ties between Rajasthan and the global Pravasi Rajasthani community.
On the final day of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, the Rajasthan Government delegation also interacted with attendees from various regions, including Dubai, the UK, Oman, Mauritius, Qatar, and Uganda. They informed these delegates about vital steps to fortify community ties with Rajasthan and extended invitations to explore investment and collaboration opportunities.
Earlier, on Wednesday, Dr Arora's delegation convened with numerous Pravasi Rajasthanis at the Utkal Chamber of Commerce in Bhubaneswar, as part of the Chief Minister’s directives to activate the newly formed Bhubaneswar chapter of the Rajasthan Foundation.
Other members accompanying the Rajasthan Foundation delegation included Amit Singhal, Manager, Rohit Sharma, Deputy Director, along with other officials from the Government of Rajasthan.
The recent ‘Rising Rajasthan’ Global Investment Summit 2024, which took place in Jaipur from December 9-11, saw considerable participation from the Pravasi Rajasthani community.
