The police action unfolded on Radavas Road near Dhanota village, where counterfeit currency valued at Rs 1.05 lakh was seized along with a printer, six cans of ink, printing paper, scissors, a paper-cutting knife, and a metal scale.

In response to directives from the Police Headquarters, law enforcement was instructed to intensify efforts against individuals and organized groups engaged in illegal activities. Following these orders, a police team led by Additional Superintendent of Police Rajneesh Poonia gathered intelligence regarding counterfeit currency operations, as stated by a senior police officer.

After receiving information about the circulation of fake currency in the Amarsar police station jurisdiction, a collaborative team of Amarsar police and the District Special Team was organized to take action.

A blockade was established on Radavas Road, about 200-300 meters ahead of Dhanota village, where they intercepted a motorcycle.

The rider, Sachin Yadav, was stopped and found to be carrying 390 counterfeit notes of Rs 100 (totaling Rs 39,000) and 330 counterfeit notes of Rs 200 (totaling Rs 66,000), amounting to Rs 1.05 lakh in counterfeit currency.

Both the fake notes and the motorcycle used for distribution were confiscated.

Further interrogation led to a search of Sachin Yadav’s home, where additional tools for printing counterfeit currency were discovered.

A case has been filed, and investigations are ongoing to assess the scale of the operation, including identifying additional members of the counterfeiting ring.

The investigation has been assigned to SHO Shahpura Hemraj for further action.
