Bhopal, March 14 (NationPress) Four individuals, including an infant, tragically lost their lives in two distinct road incidents that took place in Chhatarpur and Barwani districts of Madhya Pradesh on Friday.
In Chhatarpur, three family members were fatally injured when their vehicle crashed into a concrete road divider during the early hours of Friday near Basari village, under the jurisdiction of the Bamitha police station.
The family was en route from Gwalior to Bageshwar Dham. At approximately 4:30 AM, the younger brother, Vikas (30), lost control of the vehicle—likely due to drowsiness—and collided with the divider.
His older brother Amrish Solanki (46), along with his wife Geeta Solanki (40) and their daughter Devanshi Solanki (16), succumbed to their injuries. Amrish passed away while being transported to the hospital, while the other two died instantly,” reported Ashutosh Shrotriya, the Bamitha police station chief, to IANS.
Those injured include Vikas, his wife Neha Solanki (28), and their daughter (10). Family members have taken them to Gwalior for further medical care, as stated by the police officer.
The incident occurred near Basari village, located approximately 10 km from Bageshwar Dham.
The family was heading to a Holi Milan event organized at Bageshwar Dham. All were residents of Gwalior, the officer added.
In a separate incident in the Barwani district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday evening, a bus carrying around 35 passengers overturned, resulting in the death of a 17-month-old child and injuries to 19 others.
“One individual lost a leg, another sustained a fracture, and the remaining 19, including men, women, and children, were hurt. All victims are currently admitted to Barwani District Hospital,” a senior police officer informed IANS.
This accident occurred near Junajhira village on the Barwani-Sendhwa State Highway-39. The bus, transporting laborers, departed from Palsud in the afternoon. Just before reaching Junajhira village around 5 PM, the bus lost control and overturned abruptly.
It remains unclear how the accident transpired. “It could potentially be due to speeding; an investigation is ongoing,” the officer noted. Following the accident, the injured were first taken to the community health center in Silawad, after which the seriously wounded were referred to Barwani District Hospital for further treatment.
