Jaipur, March 14 (NationPress) Rajasthan experienced a sudden weather shift on Friday evening, as Jaipur, Churu, and Sri Ganganagar were hit by rain and hailstorms. In Churu, hail fell alongside rain, blanketing the ground in white.

Several villages in the Sadulpur region saw a 20-minute downpour, accompanied by hailstones the size of grams. In Jaipur, the skies turned cloudy by evening, followed by strong winds and intermittent drizzle across various areas. The cool breeze contributed to a more pleasant climate.

Similarly, Sri Ganganagar recorded rainfall in numerous regions. The Meteorological Office has issued warnings for thunderstorms, rain, and hail in 11 districts of Rajasthan for Saturday.

This abrupt weather change follows the influence of a western disturbance on Thursday, which led to rain and hail in multiple districts, including Jaipur, Sikar, Bharatpur, Dausa, Alwar, Bikaner, and Churu.

Areas such as Chaumu, Kotputli-Bahadur, and Bansur also reported hail. Sikar recorded the highest rainfall at 8 mm, while Alwar received 2.4 mm.

The rain has resulted in a drop in temperatures, offering respite from the heat. Many cities noted a temperature decline of 1 to 3 degrees Celsius. Chittorgarh recorded 39.7 degrees Celsius, while Kota saw 39.1 degrees Celsius, with all cities maintaining temperatures below 40 degrees Celsius. Ajmer recorded a high of 35.6 and a low of 19.6, Bhilwara 36.9 with a minimum of 16.5 degrees Celsius, and Alwar 35 with a minimum of 16.5 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Department anticipates further weather changes across Rajasthan in the coming days. On March 15, light rain and strong winds of 30-40 km/h are expected in some areas of the Bikaner, Raipur, and Bharatpur divisions, as well as Jaisalmer, Phalodi, Nagaur, and nearby regions, accompanied by cloudy skies.

On Sunday, light rain is predicted in the northern parts of Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions, whereas most other areas are expected to remain primarily dry.

A drop of 2-3 degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures is forecasted over the next 48 hours, providing some relief from the heat, officials stated.
