Jaipur, Feb 22 (NationPress) The anti-human trafficking unit of Kota in Rajasthan has effectively rescued a 17-year-old girl who had been unaccounted for over the past few days.
An official reported that the victim was located in Pachola-Kheda village, in the Jhalawar district, and is presently receiving counselling.
City SP Amrita Duhan stated that the girl's father, a resident of Harijan Basti Indra Colony, lodged a missing person report on February 17.
He noted that his daughter had departed from home at 8 a.m. without notifying anyone. Following the complaint, a case was registered, and an investigation commenced. Given the minor’s involvement, authorities treated the case with utmost urgency.
Under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police (Women Crime and Investigation Cell) Kalu Ram Verma, a specialized team was formed, headed by anti-human trafficking unit in-charge SI Babita Chaudhary.
An official mentioned that the investigators collected data from the girl’s family, interrogated suspects, and scrutinized CCTV footage.
“Technical intelligence and sources played a crucial role in verifying her whereabouts in Pachola-Kheda village. The rescue team swiftly arrived at the location and, after determined efforts, successfully retrieved the girl on Friday,” he stated.
The senior official noted that the victim was escorted back to Kota and handed over to the Vigyan Nagar police station for continued investigation.
He further indicated that after counselling, necessary actions will be followed according to legal protocols.
“The committed rescue team that significantly contributed to reuniting the girl with her family consisted of SI Babita Chaudhary, Head Constable Keshav Singh, Constable Dinesh, and Lady Constable Manju,” the official remarked.
