New Delhi, Feb 22 (NationPress) The government is dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare services for workers and their families, stated Union Minister for Labour and Employment, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, on Saturday, highlighting the importance of worker welfare.
During his visit to Chandigarh to assess key institutions under the Ministry, Dr Mandaviya noted that data-driven decision-making is essential for boosting economic growth, governance, and service delivery.
As part of his trip, the Union Minister examined the Labour Bureau and the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Model Hospital in Chandigarh, evaluating their current initiatives and engaging with stakeholders.
At the Labour Bureau, he received updates on the goals, scope, and progress of various undertakings, including price indices, labour statistics, and surveys.
Dr Mandaviya also reviewed the performance and initiatives of the EPFO Regional Offices under the Punjab & Himachal Pradesh Zone at the Labour Bureau.
The Union Minister pointed out that reforms in the IT system are continually enhancing the operations of the EPFO.
Subsequently, the Union Minister visited the ESIC Model Hospital in Chandigarh, where he toured the facilities and interacted with patients receiving treatment, reaffirming the government's commitment to providing quality healthcare for workers and their families.
Earlier this week, Dr Mandaviya directed officials to focus on efficient medical service delivery and expedite the timely completion of hospital renovation and construction projects.

To enhance efficiency and transparency, he instructed officials to hasten the digitisation of processes, including inspections, ensure better maintenance of laboratories, and maintain a strong focus on transparency in regulatory activities.
