Bengaluru, Feb 3 (NationPress) A delegation of prominent BJP leaders from Karnataka, including MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, Kumar Bangarappa, and ex-minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, is preparing to head to New Delhi to meet the national President J.P. Nadda and request the removal of the current state party President B.Y. Vijayendra, sources disclosed on Monday.

As per insider information, the delegation is expressing their concerns regarding the election of 23 district Presidents in the state, arguing that the electoral process lacked transparency and was orchestrated to facilitate Vijayendra's re-election.

The leaders are insisting that Vijayendra's name should not be declared as the state President and that a proper election should take place for the position. They are also expected to request that one of their members be allowed to run against Vijayendra.

Additionally, they plan to meet with BJP MPs from the state who share their opposition to Vijayendra and former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa. The aim is to gather support to strengthen their case before the high command. They may also push for the annulment of the new district Presidents' list.

In response to this internal dissent, Vijayendra commented on Monday in Shivamogga that the party has already suffered due to the actions of senior leaders. He stated, "The damage has already occurred. In a week, it will be clear who will take over as the state President and things will stabilize."

When questioned about reports of a faction led by senior BJP leader Yatnal preparing to contest for the state President’s role, Vijayendra replied, "The BJP values internal democracy. No other political entity conducts organizational elections as systematically as the BJP. From the Mandal level to the national President elections, everything is managed in an orderly fashion, following central leadership directives."

He added, "Over the past year, all our workers and senior leaders have been tirelessly battling against this corrupt and unethical Congress government. Throughout my tenure as state President, the citizens of the state, our party workers, and senior leaders have observed my contributions. With everyone’s backing, I am optimistic about continuing as state President and further fortifying the party," he affirmed.
