Kamath's professional journey began in a call centre, where he also dabbled in equity trading. By 2006, he transitioned into a sub-broker role. In 2010, he established Zerodha, a pioneering brokerage firm, alongside his brother Nithin Kamath.
Through Zerodha, Kamath significantly transformed the brokerage landscape in India by launching a discount brokerage model. This innovative approach lowers transaction commissions, making investing accessible to a broader audience. Based in Bangalore, Zerodha now serves over 10 million clients, positioning it among the largest brokerage firms in the nation.
