Houthi Claims Missile Strike on US Aircraft Carrier and Drone Attack on Tel Aviv Amid Israeli Retaliation
Sanna/Jerusalem, Jan 10 (NationPress) The Houthi movement of Yemen announced on Friday that it has conducted a missile strike on the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier in the northern Red Sea and launched three explosive drones at Tel Aviv, Israel.

Sanna/Jerusalem, Jan 10 (NationPress) Yemen's Houthi faction proclaimed on Friday that it executed a missile strike against the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier in the northern Red Sea and deployed three bomb-laden drones aimed at Tel Aviv, Israel.

According to Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea, who spoke on the Houthi-operated al-Masirah TV, "We conducted multiple military operations in the last 48 hours, with the most significant being the strike on the American carrier USS Harry S. Truman and its accompanying vessels in the northern Red Sea, utilizing cruise missiles and drones."

Sarea asserted, "The operation effectively disrupted a new aerial assault from that carrier, which was compelled to vacate the region."

The US military has not yet responded to the Houthi assertions. This marks the second occasion within a week that the group has claimed to have targeted the American aircraft carrier in the Red Sea.

Additionally, Sarea mentioned that his faction had attacked various objectives in Tel Aviv with three drones on Thursday, claiming those drones successfully struck their intended targets.

He emphasized that the Houthi's attacks against Israel would persist until "the aggression ceases in the Gaza Strip and the blockade is lifted."

On the same day, al-Masirah TV reported that the US, Britain, and Israel conducted a coordinated airstrike targeting several regions in Yemen, including the capital Sanaa, the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, and the northern province of Amran.

In response, Israel's military stated that its warplanes targeted the Hezyaz power station in Sanaa and the Yemeni ports of Hodeidah and Ras Isa, claiming to strike infrastructures utilized by Houthi forces for military purposes.

Residents locally reported via social media that the airstrikes impacted Houthi military positions, weapon storage sites, a launch pad, and a power facility. There were no immediate updates on casualties from either the Houthis or Israel, as noted by the Xinhua news agency.

Since November 2023, the Houthis have engaged in rocket and drone assaults on Israel and disrupted "Israeli-linked" maritime activities in the Red Sea, displaying solidarity with Palestinians amid their ongoing conflict with Israel.

Israel, in retaliation, has initiated a series of airstrikes against Houthi interests. Furthermore, the US-led naval coalition in the region has been executing regular aerial raids and strikes against Houthi positions since January 2024 in an effort to deter the armed faction, prompting the Houthis to broaden their attacks to include US naval vessels.
