Chandigarh, Dec 22 (NationPress) In a significant restructuring of the state's police force, the Haryana government has released new orders for the transfer and posting of two IPS officers.
As per an official announcement shared on Sunday, IPS officer Alok Mittal, who served as the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for the CID in Haryana and as the Additional Resident Commissioner at Haryana Bhavan in Delhi, has been assigned the role of ADGP for the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Haryana. He takes over from Amitabh Singh Dhillon.
The notification also indicates that Mittal will retain his position as the Additional Resident Commissioner at Haryana Bhavan in Delhi.
In addition, another IPS officer, Saurabh Singh, who was serving as the Commissioner of Police in Faridabad, has been appointed as ADGP-CID.
This official directive was communicated by Sumita Misra, the Additional Chief Secretary in the Home Department of the Haryana government.
A copy of this notification has also been sent to various officials, including the Secretary to the Haryana Governor, and the Secretary to the Government of India, MHA, as well as the Director General of Police, Haryana, among others, for 'information and necessary action'.
Before his current role at the ACB as ADGP, Alok Mittal, a seasoned IPS officer, has held multiple significant positions throughout his career.
He served as the Superintendent of Police in Panchkula from December 1996 to October 1999.
Subsequently, he was appointed as SP for the CBI Economic Offences Wing and Cyber Crime Cell in Delhi from November 2001 to November 2005.
In December 2005, he became the SSP of Panipat, a role he held until 2007.
He also held positions in Faridabad and Rohtak as SSP.
Mittal advanced to the position of Joint Commissioner of Police in Gurgaon in June 2009, remaining there until October 2011.
He was later appointed Inspector General of Police for the Rohtak Range before returning to Gurgaon in 2013 as Commissioner of Police.
His career progressed with his appointment as IGP for Law and Order in Haryana Police in November 2014.
Mittal has also served as Inspector General for the National Investigation Agency from April 2015 to June 2020 in Delhi.
