Increased Security Measures for Trinamool Leaders Following Party Councillor's Murder
Kolkata, Jan 12 (NationPress) Security measures for several Trinamool Congress leaders in two districts of West Bengal have been intensified following the shocking murder of party councillor Dulal Sarkar, also known as Babla, in Malda district on January 2.

Kolkata, Jan 12 (NationPress) Security measures for several Trinamool Congress leaders across two districts in West Bengal have been significantly strengthened following the heinous murder of party councillor, Dulal Sarkar, also referred to as Babla, in Malda district on January 2.

The two districts where security for local ruling party officials has been primarily bolstered are Malda and East Burdwan.

According to sources in the state administration, the security for these local leaders has been heightened mainly in areas where there are frequent reports of clashes between factions of the Trinamool Congress, rather than conflicts with rival political entities.

As part of the enhanced security protocols, armed police personnel will be assigned to their residences on a 24/7 basis.

The armed police will also accompany these leaders during their movements.

State administration sources indicated that additional security measures will be implemented for other local leaders across various districts in the upcoming days.

The focus on the security of local Trinamool Congress leaders intensified shortly after the news of Sarkar's murder emerged.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held the Malda district police accountable for the incident, questioning why the security provision that Sarkar previously had was revoked.

Sources suggest that the internal conflicts within the Trinamool Congress were the underlying cause of Sarkar's murder.

This was further underscored when police arrested Narendra Nath Tiwari, the president of Trinamool Congress in Malda town, identifying him as the 'mastermind' behind the murder.

The chairman of the Malda Municipality, Krishnendu Narayan Choudhury, confirmed that Tiwari had been plotting to eliminate Sarkar for a considerable period.
