Munich, Jan 21 (NationPress) FC Bayern has successfully secured the pre-contract signing of 19-year-old midfielder Tom Bischof on Tuesday. The talented German youth international will join the team on a free transfer from TSG Hoffenheim this summer, with a contract lasting until June 30, 2029.

Bischof holds the record as the youngest player to ever represent Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga, having made his debut at just 16 years and 263 days in March 2022.

He began his football journey at TSV Amorbach located in Lower Franconia, Bavaria. By the age of six, he joined Hoffenheim’s youth team while still playing for his local club. At the age of 10, he transitioned to Sinsheim, progressing through all of Hoffenheim’s youth divisions. He was only 16 when he first entered the first-team lineup during the 2021/22 season.

“Tom Bischof is among the most exciting German talents with international interest. At just 19, he has already amassed significant experience in professional football, competing in the Bundesliga, DFB Cup, and Europa League. Tom is a perfect match for our philosophy as a technically adept midfielder. We are delighted he has chosen to advance his career at FC Bayern. Tom possesses all the qualities necessary to excel at the highest level,” stated Christoph Freund, FC Bayern's sporting director.

Making his senior debut in March 2022, he became the youngest player to feature for Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga. After a period of limited first-team appearances and participating in the fourth-tier Regionalliga Sudwest with the second team, he has now solidified his position within the squad this season. His notable performances have made him a reliable presence during a challenging season for the Sinsheim club. He netted his first professional goal with a stunning direct free-kick in the thrilling 4-3 victory against RB Leipzig in November 2024.

Bischof has represented Germany at various levels, from U16 to U20. Last October, he was awarded the prestigious Fritz Walter Medal for the best U19 player in the nation. This means Bayern is welcoming one of the most promising young talents in Germany, who has already accumulated over 50 Bundesliga appearances and valuable experience at the highest level before his summer arrival.
