London, March 14 (NationPress) Mohamed Salah has secured the Player of the Month award for February, marking his seventh win and matching the record established by Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero. This achievement comes after a remarkable month for the Liverpool forward, who topped the Premier League with 10 goal involvements in February.

The Egyptian star began the month with a brace in Liverpool's 2-0 triumph over AFC Bournemouth, followed by goals against Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Aston Villa. Salah was instrumental in a 2-0 victory against Manchester City, becoming the first Premier League player to both score and assist in both fixtures against the reigning champions within a season.

His assist for the second goal during the 2-0 win over Newcastle United marked his 17th assist of the 2024/25 season, surpassing the record for a Liverpool player in a single Premier League campaign and only three shy of the all-time record for an entire season.

This is the second time this season that Salah has claimed the monthly title, having previously won it in November 2024.

It's the first instance since the 2022/23 season where a player has been awarded the Player of the Month multiple times in a single campaign, a feat previously achieved by Erling Haaland and Marcus Rashford.

Salah emerged as the frontrunner from a six-man shortlist after tallying both public votes and those from a panel of football experts.

He is also in contention for a February awards double, as his second goal against Bournemouth is nominated for the Guinness Goal of the Month award, with the winner set to be announced later on Friday.

Liverpool currently leads the Premier League standings with 70 points from 29 matches. Arsenal is in second place with 55 points from 28 games, followed by Nottingham Forest in third with 51 points. The defending champions, Manchester City, are fifth with 47 points from 28 matches.
